An update on me and mine…

First off, congratulations to the University of Arizona Wildcat football team.  They have finally pulled the monkey off their back and stomped on it (Tempe Normal Scum Deva’s).  As was expected, the Trudy Carpenter and the Deva’s offense could’t move the ball.  At least after Keenyn Crier had a problem with his first punt and gifted Trudy a 20yd field.  After that, it was pretty much over.  The defense held the Deva’s down and Mr. I-wanna-pad-my-stats, Tui-tomata, and the offense, got it together and moved the ball.  All in all, I thought it was a decent game.  I had to watch the game at home since I was sick, so I had to watch the game alone.  I tend to scare the kids when I watch Arizona sports and I yell at the TV. 🙄 !

Thanksgiving came and went.  We went to Feenix this year.  I had a decent time, managed to down a six-pack of Sam Adams and enjoyed the company of my in-laws.  I got ham and Boston Market cornbread muffins!  One nice thing about driving up and back now is that gas prices are dropping rapidly, despite all the price manipulations from speculators and the rat-bastards in OPEC.

Sofia started feeling down while we were up in Feenix and by the time Saturday rolled around, she was in full ‘sick’ mode.  Fluctuating fever, congestion, etc.  It’s a good thing she’s so young and resilient, she bounced back fast.  Not me.  I got it just in time for the weekend (Thursday night) and still haven’t completely recovered and it’s been a week!  Yuck!  Last night, after the twins ‘Winter Holiday’ concert Vicki and Isabel came down with the crud and spent today at home.  Marisol got it last week as well but hasn’t really bounced back as quickly as Sofia.  Hopefully she and Isabel recover quickly, along with Vicki.

One of our more memorable events after Thanksgiving for the past three years has been the Santa’s Theme Park at Firebird Raceway.  Turns out that they’ve been losing money and had to close their doors.  Vicki and I both thought it was expensive, but it was a nice atmosphere.  I hope they can come back in another incarnation where the pricing is more affordable.

Lastly, I got the Bertone to turn over and fire, if even for a couple of seconds.  I need a new battery, the one I have to keep charging won’t allow me to troubleshoot the fuel injection properly because it doesn’t give me enough power.  I don’t know if it’s the EDIS not sync’d to the MegaSquirt or what.  Oh, and the throttle position sensor wiring is cross wired somehow.  Long story short, it’s oh so close.

I’m trying to teach myself to do PWM (pulse width modulation) on Microchip PIC processors in ‘C’.  I’ve got a decent compiler and simulators running on the laptop so I should be up and running soon.

I’ve discovered Twitter.  I will be sending out invites to my peoples.  Vicki wants me to sign up for Facebook, so I must comply.  I’ll do it some time this week.

Adios, and more later.
