MegaSquirt is the system that has given me back one functional 244 and is driving force behind my Bertone project. I first installed this DIY EFI on my 244 Turbo with Bosch K-Jetronic. I got tired of replacing over-priced parts as they failed and at the same time, wondering which part was going to fail next. After purchashing the kit and building it, I was waiting for a chance to install it. Basically, the opportunity presented itself when the control pressure regulator failed. I wasn’t going to spend more money on the K-Jet so I installed my v1.1 MS over one weekend. It started on the first turn of the key. The hardest part was tuning, but I learned how and just kept at it. I’m installing a v3 MS with alot of bells and whistles on it, including EDIS (distributor-less ignition), water injection, idle air controller, boost control, and electric cooling fan control. The ‘old’ MS will be put to use in either my 122 or my Dad’s Willys CJ-3B.
