It was a nice relaxing day. The kids spent the day relaxing outside in the pool while Arlan and I stayed inside. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
On Saturday, the day before, my brother-in-law Arlan and I worked on his Tahoe. Ok. He did most of the work, I just observed, mainly. It exhibited the symptoms of a bad fuel pressure regulator, i.e., no fuel getting to the engine. It’ll run on starter fluid but as soon as you stop spraying, the engine dies. Anyway, after all was said and done, the regulator was replaced and we tried to start it. No dice, SAME symptoms. We verified that it has fuel up to fuel meter block and that there is power coming in from the power distribution block and we know that there’s spark. So, it’s either a bad ECU or a bad Central Sequential Fuel Injection block. Going to order another fuel spider.
Anyway, I ended up leaving Gloria’s house, which is where the Tahoe died, about 5:45, then went to my Mom’s to pick up the infamous ‘awning’ and what was supposed to be a pool (more on that later). Anyway, the pool box was empty and I got a wading pool from Rita.
I got home about 6:30 and relaxed until 7:00pm. That’s when I remembered that I had to pull out the tetherball pole in the dog run/multipurpose yard. I started digging it out and then Vicki and the girls starting helping out. By the time we finished pulling it out, it was about 7:45pm. After that I raked it out and then swept out the area as best I could. Mind you, Vicki had gone to get some minor stuff and a pool. She came back with a 12′ x 28″ round pool that included a filter/pump. We ended up in the yard setting up the pool until 3:00am! It was worth it.
Back to Sunday. I know why my Dad liked just listening to the sound of family together. Kids yelling and screaming, splashing each other, my Mom and sisters outside as well. It was a good day.
