Weekly Update for 13-APR-2015

So, the softball team is playing as well as can be expected. They’re 0-2-1, and they’re very proud of their tie, to them it shows that they’re improving. I can’t fault them for their enthusiasm. 🙂

The twins are doing great in Volleyball. I’ve had a chance to see part of one of Sofia’s games and toomorrow I’ll try to see part of one of Isabel’s games. Problem is her team beats the opponent so quickly I can’t get to the games in time. Wish me luck.

I think I’ve fixed the leaky transmission in the ’91 240! What a bear of a problem that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy!

Haven’t had a chance to do any reloading or machining for a while, we’ve been very busy with the girls. Hopefully towards the end of the school year!

Valentines Day, 2014

Had a GREAT day, up until the Cats went and lost in double over-time to the scum devils 🙁

Had a good day at work, got to have a fantastic lunch with the wife :). That was the high-light of my day. I NEVER get to have lunch with the wife unless she’s on my side of town, since I don’t get to drive around anymore. We went to the Cheesecake Factory, my buddy Roy had gotten me a gift certificate for my birthday that we hadn’t had a chance to use and it worked out great!

Coming back from lunch the temp gauge on the car started to rise – troubleshooting it at different stops – it was the relay. Even though it says 40-amps on it, don’t believe a Checker/Oreilly/Autozone relay. Time to invest in a couple of good relays (one for standby) or get a PWM controller.

So I get back in the office and my wife tells me that one of my girls got ZERO Valentine cards from her classmates, while her twin did. She was devastated, I was heart-broken. I will do my best to bring up her spirits and let her know she’s loved.

Lastly – I scaled the images I’m going to use for what I have to start with for images for my firearms stuff, mainly my AMD-65 build pictures and a few of the CZ-52 pistol. I need to take new pictures of it after having repainted it with ceramic coating to silver and black.

Thanks enough for tonight, will add more this weekend I’m sure.

Busy Weekend!

Started Friday night – the battery in my 262c died. 🙁 Amazing what a new battery will do for a car, though. The battery must have been dying for a while because the car runs better – smoother almost, starts faster, and idles better. Lesson learned.

My Mom’s DSL connection was dog slow. Come to find out that her speeds had been dropped down by Qwest or whatever they call themselves now. There may be a bad line from the pole to her house though – the neighbor’s tree is pulling the line down.

I made progress on my seat adapters for the 262c so I can put BMW seats into it. I ran out of 1 1/4 flat 1/8th strap, so I’ll have to get that to finish. I’ll put up pictures when I’m done.

Another thing I did was do a quick garage alignment on the 262c. When I installed the new-to-me rack it moved the steering wheel so it pointed to the right. A couple quick turns and it was pointed back straight. I still have to adjust it back a tiny bit, it’s pointed to the left now just enough to be annoying but not enough to be obvious. That and it has a teensy weensy pull to the right. Before I learned how to make these adjustments I would have spent the $70 to get it aligned but not any more. A quick session in the garage and I took care of alot of ills.

On other fronts: the Arizona Wildcats are in the Sweet 16 again! Wins over Belmont and Harvard have put them in a contest with Ohio State. It’ll be a tough game but should be a good contest.

Marana Unified’s spring break is over, the kids went back to school today. They weren’t too excited, to say the least.

That’s enough news, more stuff later!
