Got some more work done on the car. Figured out a substitute for the boost control solenoid that was used in the TB boost control thread. Check out the car thread, as usual.

Well, Saturday sucked…
It started OK. Got some work done for Ana, that was good. Came home, relaxed for a while. The house was quiet because Vicki and the girls had gone to an event at the library downtown. After a while, Vicki and the critters got back home. No problem, right?
At 4:30 the Arizona – Oregon game started. I don’t know why I kept watching, it was a train wreck from the get go. In the first minute of the game the quackers were up 14. As usual, Tui-tomata made bad mistakes, causing turnovers. Grigsby had some decent yardage – but nothing really impressive. I quit watching before half time to go feed the boys. That’s when made a depressing discovery.
Mouse, our mix breed, had passed away. He had been slowing down and gaining wait wasn’t looking like his usual self. He’d been up and around earlier in the day so I wasn’t really expecting any change. Anyway, he must have just passed within a couple of hours of when I’d gone out because he was still warm. The girls were sad and wanted to make sure he’d gone to doggie heaven, which we assured them he had. He will be missed. Damn he loved playing fetch. Vaya con Dios, little guy.
The second half of the game was all about Arizona playing catchup, or at least trying to keep up with the scoring. Apparently, Oregon had Arizona’s defense scheme figured out because they pretty much scored at will. If it weren’t for the two turn-overs in the first half, the game could have gone another way. After Grigsby’s fumble, he was yanked and Keola Antolin put back in. That little man can run and runs down hill. Why he didn’t get more playing time is beyond me. Rob Gronkowski had another good game. In the end, Arizona couldn’t make up the difference. 55-45.
Oh, and the Tempe Normal scum bags won. It was only Washington State, but they won.
Yeah, Saturday sucked. 🙁
What’s goin’ on…
Well, Black Tuesday brought us a socialist as the President of the United States. I don’t think the next four years are going to be good ones. Oh well.
After a year or so, my Mom’s house no longer has major holes in the wall. It took us the better part of a day, but between us (Ana, Gloria, and me) we got it done. Oh, I hate old fashioned drywall, where there’s a base wall of drywall with holes that’s then covered with thin mortar then plaster. It’s hard to cut and to level out with standard drywall. Another thing that had been bothering us about my Mom’s house was the power coming in from the service in the alley – it was barely about seven feet from the ground. I thought it would take a while to get the power company out to fix it. Boy was I wrong. They came out and took care of it the same day. Very nice!.
We’re taking bids for the roof to get it taken care of before the Christmas holiday. With any luck, we’ll be able to get a small roof put on where the dryer is now so we can move the washer out there too. If we can do that then we can FINALLY put the dishwasher in the kitchen.
I ‘ve put Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years on the calendar.
Lastly, I’ve been working really hard on my Volvo. I’m very close to getting it started. Soon. Maybe…
